Who is Big Brothers Big Sisters of America?

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that helps children realize their potential and build their futures. They do this by making meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. As a result, they develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. 

A Perfect Match

As a fraternity, our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love align well with Big Brothers Big Sisters’ core principles of mentorship, trust, and the impact of positive role models. Since selecting to partner with this organization in 2013, our brothers have enjoyed the opportunity to serve others on our journey to become balanced men. Just like Big Brothers Big Sisters has a vision for its children to reach their full potential, SigEp has a vision for all of its members to become the best men they can be. 

Our Part in the Mission

Each year, Ohio Gamma makes it a priority to raise as much money as possible to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters to support their mission of igniting the power and promise of youth. In the past, the chapter has held bake sales, sold walking tacos, and will soon be holding the Pie a Phi event. In the future, we plan to do in-person events where the children get to hang out with our members laughing, playing, and enjoying life the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
